Nicola Sturgeon has announced that all of Scotland’s covid restrictions introduced in response to the Omicron wave over the festive period will end next Monday.
The Prime Minister said nightclub closures and the requirement for table service in hospitality would end.
Participation limits for indoor events will also be lifted.

Mechanic David Craig booked a hotel in Inverness to catch up with old friends – and ended up making a dirty discovery behind his bedroom bed.
David, 52, discovered a pair of soiled women’s underwear when he moved the bed into his bedroom to retrieve his car keys.
The floor under the bed in the Holiday Inn Express Inverness was also littered with bits of rotting food and a solid layer of dust indicating that it hadn’t been cleaned in some time.
The three Scottish villages named among the UK’s ‘chicest’
Three Scottish villages have been ranked among the “most chic” in the UK.
In the Telegraph’s list of The 54 poshest villages in Britainonly three Scottish locations made it into the guide which selects the fanciest villages based on a combination of the highest house prices, the best lifestyle amenities, connectivity and “the attractiveness of the chocolate box”.
According to the newspaper, 60% of Savills estate agents reported seeing an increase in demand for rental accommodation in the most desirable locations in the countryside during the pandemic.

A pub bouncer nicknamed ‘the devil’ has been given an extended six-year prison sentence after being found guilty of life-threatening attacks on his former lovers.
Kevin Raymond, 28, subjected women to years of violent abuse and he was on the sex offender registry for ten years for committing a sexual assault on one of his victims.
Raymond reportedly showed no idea of the impact his crimes had on his victims and he tried to minimize what he did to them.
