Ocala Horse Properties Tuesday News and Notes | Eventing Nation
This week we welcome a new Tuesday News & Notes sponsor: Ocala Horse Properties! We have enjoyed working with Chris and Rob Desino over the years and are proud to welcome Ocala Horse Properties back as your official source for properties, farms and beyond in Ocala, Wellington and other areas. centered on the horse in Florida.
We’ll have a lot more to come from Ocala Horse Properties in the coming weeks, but for now, congratulations to Chris Desino and Dilan Bower on their wedding in a stunning location: Aspen, Colorado. The wedding looks like it was a real celebration in the mountains and we absolutely need more photos immediately.

Tuesday news and notes from around the world:
You’ve no doubt come across genetic testing when looking for horses to sell or stall. But while we’ve relied on the same tests for many years to spot the likes of PSSM, are they actually accurate and useful or are they just red flags? [Find out here]
They don’t always get the attention and headlines they deserve, but the owners of our sport are pretty cool. Meet Steve and Vicki Sukup, who own a thriving business, a Belmont Stakes winner – and share Renkum Corsair, Elisa Wallace’s exciting mount. [They always bet on the rider]
We all embarrassed ourselves at some point during the competition. (If I’m being honest, I do this pretty much every time I go out one way or another – like the time I went for my trail and fell face down in the mud just in front of the busy dressage warm-up- and then Francis Whittington asked me if I’d poop every time I saw him for MONTHS.) Either way, take comfort in knowing you’re not not alone – the pros have some pretty good blunders to their name too. [Oops, I did it again – horse edition]
Although we still mourn the loss of Irish Tattersalls International, the George Mernagh Fund is about to be put to good use. Created in honor of its namesake, the founder of this great event, it is now used to provide training scholarships to young riders to help build on Ireland’s eventing heritage. [Check this out if you’re young and Irish]
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work for Will Coleman, Aachen champion and all rounder? Follow chief groom Erin Jarboe for the day and see what she does. [Bring coffee.]
