Capitals face Islanders without Alex Ovechkin

It’s like deja vu. The Washington Capitals will have another opportunity to move out of wildcard second place against the New York Islanders. The only difference is that the match takes place at the UBS Arena.

The Capitals changed their forward lines after Tuesday’s terrible performance. Axel Jonsson Fjallby replaces Connor McMichael and will skate on the third line.

Vitek Vanecek will start tonight against Semyon Varlamov.

Tonight’s game is on NBC Sports Washington. Here is today’s Daily Deals.

Vanecek vs. Varlamov

Not optimal

Marty didn’t miss a shift, but ugh.

The Caps have already fallen. 1-0 NYI.

Brock Nelson scores on the power play. It’s his 37th of the season. It was a great passing game, but you want your goalie to release you.
